The Best References in The Sims 4

The Sims franchise is full of references to pop culture everywhere. The Sims is a simulation game where you control people in their day to day life. If you haven’t played it, it is much more fun than it sounds.

Whether you play to see how many generations you can go for, or how fast you can kill 10 of your neighbours, you should enjoy the pop culture references and humour scattered throughout the games.

Below is a list of some of the best references you will come across in the Sims 4.

Schmapple kitchen appliances are a reference to mega-conglomerate Apple.

henry-puffterThe Henry Puffter Poster is a clear reference to everyone’s favourite boy wizard Harry Potter.

When you have a baby in The Sims 4, it will say ‘life, the universe and everything waits’, a reference to Douglas Adams’ comedy master piece Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

The book A Game of Groans is a reference to A Game of Thrones, The Bladder Games is a reference to the Hunger Games and The Sauntering Dead is a reference to the Walking Dead. The Lord of the Swings sounds like a fantastic book to read, I don’t think I need to tell you what that references. And maybe my favourite, How I Dumped Your Father.

jelly-staplerThere is a random event that happens during the business career where a coworker has put your stapler in jello. This is a reference to The Office, where Dwight’s stapler is put in jello by Jim and the same happens to Gareth by Tim in the UK version. Also the third level of the business career track is titled “Assistant to the Manager”.
