The third and fourth episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events follow the book The Reptile Room. In these episodes the Baudelaire children are left to the guardianship of Montgomery Montgomery (no you’re not seeing double, that is his name). Count Olaf of course comes to try to steal the children back and take them to Peru.
The episodes follow the book reasonably well, although as with the first the mysterious subplot of what happened to their parents is revealed earlier. It works very well for the series and takes the monotony out of the plot.
These episodes weren’t as strong as the first two in my opinion. They were less funny and maybe a little dull in comparison. However Patrick Warburton continues to be the perfect narrator, NPH continues to be wicked and the set design is still just as beautiful as it was in the first two episodes.
