Carrie Fisher has unfortunately passed away. She suffered a massive heart attack on a flight on 23rd December 2016, and has died from complications. In 2008 she wrote her own obituary *ahem*:
Carrie was the absolutely iconic character of Princess Leia in Star Wars, as well as parts in When Harry Met Sally and Blues Brothers amongst others.
The author of several fiction novels, three non-fiction books and a handful of screenplays and plays, Carrie Fisher was a multi talented soul.
Carrie Fisher was open about her substance abuse issues, and mental health issues, an advocate that made a real mark, including appearing on Stephen Fry’s The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive. She left an impression on him as he tweeted this:
Our thoughts are with her mother Debbie Reynolds, daughter Billie Lourd and dog Gary.
May the force be with you, Carrie.
