Best Celebrity Baby Names 2016

Welcome to the 2016 Kneel Before Pop Best of Series!

There’s a lot of speculation over names given by celebrities to their offspring. I’m going to concentrate on the baby names that I really like, rather than those that I personally do not like – because celebrities make it too easy to pick on them.

russell-brandMabel Brand

Russell Brand and girlfriend Laura Gallacher welcomed their first child this year! Russell Brand is famous for being British, having wild hair, being verbose and formerly a bad boy. Glad to see that he has cleaned himself up for his family!

Nicky Hilton and James Rothschild also welcomed their first child this year. Nicky Hilton is famously the sister of Paris Hilton and great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton (who was married to Zsa Zsa Gabor) and James comes from the aristocratic Rothschild family. We’re all very happy for this well to do couple and their new daughter.

guy-pearce-carice-van-houtenMonte Pearce

This little guy comes about from the coupling of Australian actor Guy Pearce and Game of Thrones actress Carice van Houten. Monte is a pretty cool name, maybe Montgomery could have made it cooler.

GAME OF THRONES SPOILER AHEAD (hurry up and watch it.. seriously) Monte is going to grow up knowing that his mum was the heroine who saved Jon Snow.. But killed a little girl. He will be so conflicted..

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt had a second daughter this year, Violet joins little Hazel. Who isn’t a fan of Emily Blunt, really? She’s absolutely charming and hilarious.. That’s without even mentioning the genes these kids will get from their dad:

eddie-redmayneIris Redmayne

The lovable Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah welcomed their first child this year. In a plot twist, they named their baby an old lady name.

Have you seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them yet? If not, you need to. It’s great – especially Eddie Redmayne.. But is that surprise?

I love old names come new, and this year there have been some very lovely, classy names given to celebribabies. Give me a Maude, a Theodore or a George and I’m happy!
